The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in Oyo state on Saturday said the present administration in the state, led by the All Progressives Congress (APC) lacked human face policies, Labour unfriendly and full of deceit.
ZLP urged electorate to assess the out going government with the level of poverty in the state viz-a-viz unfulfilled promises which, according to the party are the hallmarks of the ruling party.
The party in a statement by its publicity secretary, Olajide Olanipekun Esq., said Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) remains the only credible alternative with human face manifesto, Labour friendly programmes and masses oriented plans that will put smiles on the faces of Oyo state inhabitants after 2019 election when Akogun Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli will be sworn in as the Governor of Oyo state.
ZLP reminded the people of the state the effectiveness of governance when its team was in government, close to two decades ago, saying such development will be brought back to the state.
The statement reads; “The Gubernatorial candidate of ZLP participated as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) in the government led by High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja where masses oriented programmes in education like 30 students per class; prompt payment of Worker salaries; mass employment of teachers among other programmes that shaped the face of purposeful governance in Oyo state which people of Oyo State are still clamouring for.
“ZLP reminds the ruling party that Oyo state people will not permit a repeat of the massively rigged 2015 elections as confessed by the rigging machine of the ruling party that recently part ways with them. Also, it is obvious that the ruling party is even divided more than the opposition with the Unity group hitherto with party now stranded in another Political Party, former Governor Akala group is also no more with the ruling party as well as all other aggrieved gubernatorial aspirants who were forced and coerced to step down from the race to pave way for the emergence of her candidate are not working with the party presently. What we have in the ruling party now is one quarter of the machine that rigged 2015 election. How could that win 2019 election?
“With the array of credible candidates in the rank of ZLP ranging from Akogun Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the Governor candidate, the senatorial candidates – Engr. A.I.M. Olaniyan, Chief Aderemi Olajide and Chief Mrs Ayoka Lawani contesting for Senate seats in Oyo Central, Oyo South and Oyo North senatorial districts respectively are ready to redirect governance in Oyo state from the present mismanagement that we are experiencing. Other 14 House of Representatives candidates and 32 State House of Assembly candidates are all credible with track records of love for the masses and knack for good governance.
“Oyo state electorates are wiser and will only queue behind a visionary party and her candidates with fear of God represented by ZLP and Akogun Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli to save them from the present mismanagement of present administration not the continuation of bad governance.
“We hereby advise the ruling party to begin to pack its belongings from Agodi Government House as Oyo state electorates will sack them and install ZLP for purposeful governance.”
