UI Set to Host Landmark SME Fair

In a bid to boost innovation and competitiveness among small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the University of Ibadan is gearing up to host its highly anticipated 2024 SME Fair.

Scheduled to take place on November 8-9 at the university’s International Conference Centre, the two-day event is themed “Moving the SME Glocal Community Forward through Technology, Innovation, and Creativity.”

According to Prof. Ruth Ochanya Adio-Moses, convener of the event, the SME Fair aims to provide a platform for entrepreneurs, students, and industry leaders to share ideas, explore technological advancements, and expand their business networks.

“The objective of the fair is to create a conducive environment for SMEs to thrive, leveraging technology, innovation, and creativity,” Prof. Adio-Moses said.

The event promises to be a hub of activity, featuring keynote addresses, guest speeches, panel discussions, and workshops. Product exhibitions, inter-university competitions, pitch events, and business matchmaking sessions are also on the agenda.

Renowned speakers from various sectors will share strategies for SME success in the global market, while attendees will have access to training sessions focused on creativity and technology adoption for business growth.

The SME Fair is powered by the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnership, with Providence Bank as sponsor and CEO Africa as official media partner.

This landmark event is expected to attract entrepreneurs, students, and industry leaders from across Nigeria, providing a unique opportunity for networking, collaboration, and business growth.
