Tricycle Rider assaults OYRTMA officer

 

 

A disturbing incident occurred on Thursday in Mokola, Ibadan, when a tricycle rider assaulted an OYRTMA officer who was carrying out enforcement operations. Eyewitnesses reported that the tricycle rider became aggressive and fought the officers after being confronted about illegal parking in front of a commercial bank.

 

 

Toheeb Abbas, the assaulted officer, suffered severe injuries and was left blood-soaked. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.

 

 

Major Adekoya Adesagba (rtd), Chairman of OYRTMA, strongly condemned the assault, labeling it a shocking incident. “Attacking our officers is equivalent to fighting the government’s efforts to ensure public safety and protect lives and property,” he stated. Adesagba warned that the perpetrators will face the full weight of the law.

 

 

This incident highlights the growing concern over violence against enforcement officers in the state. Despite this challenge, OYRTMA remains committed to maintaining law and order on the roads.
