Oyo State Students To Makinde: You’re A Total Failure

The Indigenous students representative council of Oyo state popularly known as FOSSU NATIONAL has come out to lambast the government of the state of Oyo.
In a series of allegations levelled against the executive governor Seyi Makinde led administration, FOSSU lamentrd the absence of scholarship which has always been what the Oyo state government is known for over the years before the assumption of the present adminstration.
Similarly, the administration is accused of non-payment of bursary to students of Tertiary institution over 3 years of assuming power , as well as lack of payment of welfare benefits to students who are indigene of the state across all tertiary institutions in the country.
Speaking on the lack of care being shown to the students of Oyo state  indigene represented by FOSSU, the Senate President of the association, Comrade Ashiru Muhammed states that all effort to call the governor to order and provide bursary to indigenous students of the state across the country and also students  who are on scholarship have proven abortive.
Speaking further, he revealed that this has left various students of the state studying in various institutions across the country stranded because some  of them have to rely on other means to source for funds as against the promise made by the government of the day, during the 2019 campaign.
Similarly, it was revealed to newsmen that the governor Seyi Makinde foundation organized a jambo scholarship to which various students who registered for the programme have been left in a state of limbo, three months after registration even thou the  jamboo process was earlier challenged by the national body of the union.
The senator therefore, call on all relevant stakeholders to come to the aid of the students of the state’s origin and save Oyo State students from the agony of abandonment which the state’s government put them in.
