NSCDC Parades 10 Suspects over alleged rape, fraud

 

 

 

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, today presented 10 suspects to the press. The suspects are alleged to have committed various crimes ranging from rape and illegal abortion to financial fraud.

 

Four suspects were paraded in connection with the gang rape of a 16-year-old girl, which resulted in pregnancy and subsequent illegal abortion:

 

1. Qayum Babatunde, 18, from Ibadan

2. Azim Gbadamosi, 19, from Ibadan, Oranyan area

3. Mutiu Olaniyi, 43, from Ibadan, Oranyan area (commercial driver)

4. Moshood Oyindamola, 23, from Ibadan, Oranyan area (unlicensed nurse who performed the abortion)

 

In a separate case, Aminu Victor, 19, from Adamawa State, was arrested for allegedly raping his boss’s 9-year-old daughter.

 

 

The Command’s Tracking Unit arrested several suspects involved in various financial fraud schemes:

 

1. Bakare Jide Damilare, 42, from Idowa, Odogbodu LGA, Ogun State, residing in Imota, Ikorodu. He is accused of conspiracy and obtaining 17 million Naira by false pretense. The suspect and his accomplice allegedly used multiple bank accounts to defraud Sarumi Hakeem in a scheme involving the purchase of a Toyota Highlander Jeep (2016 model).

 

2. Alabi Victor, 25, from Ile Ogbo, Osun State, allegedly used his father’s account to defraud an individual.

 

3. Three suspects – Abiodun Oluwafemi, Akinloye Sakirat Folasade, and Victoria Akanbi – were arrested for allegedly defrauding a store owner of seven hundred and thirty eight thousand, six hundred and seventy naira (N738,670). Victoria Akanbi, working as a POS attendant, reportedly transferred the fraudulently obtained funds to her accomplices between October 2023 and August 2024.

 

NSCDC Oyo State Command assures the public that all suspects will be arraigned in court upon completion of investigations.

The Command urges the good people of Oyo State to report any suspicious activities to NSCDC or other security agencies.
