IPOB Vows To Kill Gov Hope Uzodimma, As Police Confirm Group Behead LG Chairman After N6m Ransome 

The Imo State Police command on Monday confirmed killing of the caretaker chairman of Ideato North Local Government, Chris Ohizu, has been beheaded by men of the  Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and their armed affiliate Eastern Security Network (ESN).

The group vowed to kill the governor of the state, Hope Uzodimma.

The late chairman was killed after his abductors collected a ransom of N6 million.

Oyoecho learnt that video of the secene was circulated on social media after the council boss was beheaded

 Though, the killer denied being members of IPOB or ESN, but claiming they were fighting for a separatist state of Biafra.

In the video monitored by our correspondent, the killers vowed that after they have killed Ohizu, they will go for the governor of the state, Hope Uzodimma.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer,  ASP Henry Okoye, in a statement, confirmed that a man suspected to be  slain Council boss was killed in the video but however said Police is in top of the situation.

The statement said, “Imo State Police Command is aware of the iniquitous and obscene video that has gone viral on social media where, a man, suspected to be the abducted Ideato North LGA Sole Administrator,  was seen kneeling down, his hands tied undergoing inhuman act and subsequently killed by supected members of the Proscribed Indegeneous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate,  Eastern Security Network (ESN)

“The command wish to inform the good people of the State that, we are already on top of the situation following a high powered investigation team, inaugurated by the Commissioner of Police , CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde, and have since commenced technical investigation on the date of the abduction and have been on the trail of the hoodlums where tremendous progress was being made before the surfacing of the obscene video .

“However, the Command’s Tactical Teams are not relenting in their efforts to arrest and unravel the identity of the papetrators of this dastardly act with the sole aim of bring them to face the full wrath of the law.”
