Ibadan Family Heads Seek Suspension Of Olubadan Palace Attackers Sponsors
The Ibadan family heads, otherwise known as Authentic Mogaji of Ibadanland on Wednesday asked the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun to hang promotion of the family who sponsored hoodlums to attack the palace on Monday.
The family head said since the palace knew the hoodlums were sponsored by certain group, they should be dealt with accordingly.
Daily Trust reports that some hoodlums had invaded the palace on Monday when Olubadan was performing promotional rite on some Inadan chiefs.
The palace through the spokesman to Olubadan Dele Ogunsola said the hoodlums were sponsored by some individuals which made Olubadan suspended the performance.
Reacting to the development, the AuthenticMogajis in a statement signed by it’s spokesman, Mogaji Wale Oladoja said police should fish out the suspected criminals who invaded the palace and make them face the wrath of the law.
The statement further said the Personal Assistance to Olubadan on chieftaincy matters, Baale Jagun, Chief Isiaka Akinpelu must explain to Ibadan people the family behind attack on the palace.
According to the statement, such the development is bringing ridicule and embarrassment to the throne of Olubadan which should not be taking lightly by the sons and daughters of Ibadanland.
The statement reads; “The entire family heads of Ibadanland are unhappy with the embarrassing and uncultured attitude of some hoodlums that invaded the palace of Olubadan of Ibadanland on Monday. They deliberately attack the palace to disrupt peaceful promotion of some chiefs and Baales. This is unbelievable!
“Ibadan as the most peaceful town never witness such a terrible situation before now, even when political activities are tense than this. Why now? Olubadan is one of the most respected monarchs in Nigeria and it is unreasonable to hear such incident coming from palace at this time.
“We are therefore calling on the police to fish out those behind the attack and bring them to book. The Personal Assistance to Olubadan on chieftaincy matters, Baale Jagun, Chief Isiaka Akinpelu most tell us why such development occurred and expose the family behind the incident. The palace must suspend promotion of the family without wasting time. On our part, we are working with the palace to ensure we work out the talk,” the statement read.
