IBADAN AGOG AS OLUBADAN CROWNS OTUN OLUBADAN, LADOJA
In a landmark event, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin 1), has crowned Otun Olubadan HRH Oba Rashidi Ladoja, marking his first official duty as the monarch.
The ceremony, held at the new Olubadan palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan North Local Government Area, was attended by Acting Governor Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, who presented the staff of office and certificate to Oba Ladoja on behalf of the State Government.
Olubadan Olakulehin praised the renewed unity among Ibadan Kingmakers, predicting peace, progress, and development for the land. He emphasized that his reign begins on a harmonious note, with all kingmakers united.
“With the coronation of Oba Rasidi Ladoja as a beaded crown Oba, my reign is starting on a very harmonious note to the benefit of Ibadan Land as all kingmakers are all now on the same page” HIM said.
Acting Governor Lawal commended the people of Ibadan, reaffirming the State Government’s commitment to strengthening traditional institutions.
Oba Ladoja acknowledged Ibadan’s unique approach to resolving misunderstandings, stressing that unity and cooperation will bring positive change.
“They said we should do it the way it is supposed to be done. Ibadan is capable of doing its own thing.. We have ways of doing our things. Once we enter the inner chamber, you must realise that things will change. All the problems is as a result of misunderstanding.” Oba Ladoja said.
This historic ceremony marks a new era of harmony and cooperation in Ibadanland, promising a brighter future for the community.
