How I fathered over 100 children in 15 years_ Telegram’s CEO

Pavel Durov, the founder and CEO of Telegram, announced on the messaging app that he has over 100 biological children through sperm donation.

The 39-year-old entrepreneur shared the news with his 5.7 million subscribers, stating that he was approached by a friend 15 years ago to donate sperm due to a fertility issue.

Durov initially thought the request was a joke but eventually agreed to donate sperm at a clinic. He was told that “high-quality donor material” was in short supply and that it was his “civic duty” to donate more sperm to help couples in need.

Fast forward to 2024, Durov’s sperm donations have helped over 100 couples in 12 countries have children. He plans to open-source his DNA to allow his biological children to find each other.

He took to the messaging app to share the same with his 5.7 million subscribers. “I was just told that I have over 100 biological kids. How is this possible for a guy who has never been married and prefers to live alone?” he said.

Mr. Duro said, “my past donating activity has helped over a hundred couples in 12 countries to have kids. Moreover, many years after I stopped being a donor, at least one IVF clinic still has my frozen sperm available for anonymous use by families who want to have kids.”

The entrepreneur stated that he now plans to open-source his DNA so that his biological children can find each other. Discussing the importance of healthy sperm, Mr Durov said that he is proud that he did his duty. Of course, there are risks, but I don’t regret having been a donor.

“The shortage of healthy sperm has become an increasingly serious issue worldwide, and I’m proud that I did my part to help alleviate it. I also want to help destigmatize the whole notion of sperm donation and incentivize more healthy men to do it, so that families struggling to have kids can enjoy more options. Defy convention – redefine the norm,” he wrote on Telegram.

Pavel Durov is the 33-year-old CEO of Telegram, the encrypted messaging app he built after fleeing Russia with the $260 million (£183 million) fortune he amassed from creating the social network VKontakte

He’s been dubbed “Russia’s Mark Zuckerberg” due to his success, but he was forced out of the company that made him his fortune. Now his new app has gained over 100 million users.

Durov is planning to raise $2 billion in an initial coin offering, and is enjoying a glamorous lifestyle in Dubai

Durov only wears black, and used to constantly travel around the world. He’s had run-ins with armed gangs and the Kremlin, once threw paper planes made of money out of his office window, and he’s been romantically linked to a glamour model.
