FG Launches “Mobilizer” App for Youths to Report Crimes

The Federal Government has developed a mobile app, “Mobilizer”, enabling Nigerian youths to report crimes and criminalities directly from their phones. This initiative aims to enhance security and prompt response from law enforcement agencies.

National Orientation Agency (NOA) Director-General, Issa Lanre-Onilu, announced this at a meeting with media executives and top editors at the National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Abuja.

The “Mobilizer” app allows youths to report incidents anonymously, providing security operatives with real-time information to track and apprehend criminals.

This launch comes amidst nationwide protests demanding an end to insecurity and criminal activities.

NOA emphasized the importance of engaging youths in government programs, stating that awareness and involvement can deter violence.

The NCTC highlighted the crucial role of the media in combating terrorism and violent crimes, urging collaboration and responsible reporting.

Former Nigerian Army spokesman, Maj.-Gen. Christopher Olukolade, stressed the need for stakeholders to change narratives about Nigeria, promoting unity and countering destructive ideologies.

The “Mobilizer” app is a significant step towards empowering youths and enhancing national security.
