Eid Al-Adha: A time for sacrifice, compassion – Senator Alli  

Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has felicitated with Muslims across the globe as they celebrate Eid Al-Adha, reminding them on the need to embrace unity, compassion and sacrifice.

 

This is contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Ibadan.

 

Alli said that the holy festival known as “Festival of Sacrifice’ is a time to remember the profound act of obedience and faith demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

 

“The willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his beloved son in submission to Allah’s command is a timeless lesson in obedience, devotion, trust and selflessness,” he said.

 

He urged all to use the occasion to promote peace, understanding, and cooperation among their diverse communities.

 

“As we come together to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Eid Al-Adha, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Muslims in Oyo South Senatorial District and beyond.

 

“Let us celebrate Eid Al-Adha with joy and gratitude, while also being mindful of the ongoing challenges we face as a nation.

 

“Through our collective efforts, we can overcome adversity and build a better future for ourselves and generations to come,” he said.

 

The lawmaker said that Eid Al-Adha reminded us of the importance of sacrifice and the spirit of giving.

 

“As we commemorate this special day, let us also reflect on our values of compassion, generousity and socio- wellbeing of our communities.

 

“It is a time to reach out to the less privileged, share our blessings, and strengthen the bonds of unity among us. By doing so, we honor the true essence of this festival and embody the principles of our faith,” he said.

 

Alli restated his commitment towards

ensuring that the needs and aspirations of the district are addressed.

 

“I am dedicated to work for a more inclusive, prosperous, and harmonious society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

 

“Together, let us continue to strive for justice, equity, and progress, guided by the teachings of Islam and the spirit of Eid Al-Adha,” he said.

 

He prayed that Almighty Allah accept our sacrifices and prayers and guide us on the path of righteousness.

 

“May Allah bless you and bless our families with good health, happiness and prosperity. Eid Mubarak”.
