Christmas: Keep Steadfastness In Your Prayers For Nigeria, Ayandele Tells Nigerians
As global community celebrates this year’s Christmas, a prominent businessman and politician, Dr. Olusola Ayandele, has urged adherents of Christianity and all other Nigerians to emulate Jesus Christ and thus exhibit virtue of humility, selflessness and love in their daily activities in order to contribute their quota to the task of building a better society for all and sundry.
Christmas is the 25th day of December, in the Gregorian calendar, set aside annually in the Christendom to mark and celebrate the birth of Jesus who was believed to have ascended to the heaven over 2,000 years ago.
Dr. Ayandele, in his Christmas message which was contained in a statement issued on Friday and made available to journalists in Ibadan by his Special Assistant on Media, Comrade Sola Adeleke, urged citizens to be steadfast in their prayers for the country and also remain optimistic about the emergence of a more peaceful, stable and prosperous Nigeria despite current challenges.
“Christmas is unique in all sense of it as it is celebrated annually across the globe with fanfare, glitz and glamour to underscore the value attached to the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ over 2, 000 years in Bethlehem. Also, Christians use the Yuletide to show love to other people in the society irrespective of their diversity as belonging to different faiths, cultures and ethnic groups. All these form the imperative of the coming of Jesus Christ into this world.
“As we all engage in junketing in this festive period, it is very important for us to remember the less privileged and provide for their needs too. We must make it our duty to pray for our dear country-Nigeria and join hands with governments at all levels to stamp out the challenges of insecurity, instability and poverty currently bedevelling our society since we do not have any other place to call our own. Nigeria is our own Jerusalem and it is believed that anyone who desires the good of Jerusalem would prosper in it.
“On our part, we have done so much to give succour to the masses who deserve to be happier especially at a time like this. For this Yuletide, the Olusola Ayandele Foundation, with its Head Office, in Molete, Ibadan has doled out food items, gifts and various sums of money to the different categories of the members of the society without any form of discrimination. This we have been doing over the years and we shall continue to do even after the festivities since the objective is to alleviate the suffering of the people in the society.”
Meanwhile, the aspirant for the Oyo South Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo state in 2023 general election has extended his Season’s greetings to all leaders, chieftains, members and supporters of the APC assuring them that the reality of the desired full return to power in the state would begin to manifest in the first month of the new year and this would not cease until the final victory come their way in 2023.
“There is no gainsaying the fact that APC, anywhere in the country, is populated by competent democrats and patriots who are equipped with the wherewithal to transform this country, it is on this premise that we are calling on all stakeholders within Oyo APC to prioritize unity and harmony among party faithfuls and also ensure that only the best hands are thrown up as standard bearers in the next general election particularly in Oyo South Senatorial District which is the nucleus of the state.” Dr. Ayandele stated.
