Ajimobi’s Demise, A Big Loss — Prof Adeolu Akande
A chief of staff to late former governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, and a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Prof. Adeolu Akande has described the death of his boss as big loss.
Akande in a statement in Ibadan on Friday said Ajimobi brought his knack for excellence to governance in Oyo State and left impressive footprints in the areas of infrastructure development and general administration.
“I received with shock and grief the news of the passing of my former(?) boss,
“Senator Ajimobi will be remembered for making history as the first to serve two consecutive terms as governor of Oyo State. He brought his knack for excellence to governance in Oyo State and left impressive footprints in the areas of infrastructure development and general administration. He also made his mark in the political firmament across elective and party offices. His death is a big loss to the family, Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
“I mourn with the family the loss of a truly distinguished Nigerian and gentleman. I urge them to take consolation in the fact that Senator Ajimobi played his part well in the first ranks of every team.
“I commiserate especially with his amiable wife, Chief (Dr) Florence Ajimobi, the children and the entire Ajimobi family. May God grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and May the soul of Senator Abiola Ajimobi rest in God’s eternal peace.”
