Accept Your Ibadan North Defeat In Good Fate, Your Total Defeat Is Imminent, Akinremi Tells PDP
The only elected House of Representatives members in Oyo South Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Musiliu Akinremi has urged the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr Seyi Makinde and other PDP members in Ibadan North Federal Constituency to accept the defeat of PDP candidate in last Saturday National Assembly election in good fate.
Akinremi who was elected to represent Ibadan North Federal constituency at the green chamber was apparently reacting to a recent press conference where Engineer Seyi Makinde said the PDP would soon challenge the APC victory in Ibadan North and other 13 federal constituencies won by APC in court said “PDP would only be chasing shadows.”
The Canadian, American, Liberian-based businessman stated this while addressing his numerous supporters and well wishers during the celebration of his electoral victory, held at his Foundation House, Prince Akinremi Foundation (PAF), Yemetu Barracks, Ibadan.
The newly elected lawmaker, while rededicating his electoral victory to God and the people, said it was laughable and illogical for the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the state to have seen irregularities in all the constituencies won by the APC in the Presidential and National Assembly elections, but see nothing wrong in the Oyo South Senatorial district won by his party.
Akinremi, a philanthropist pointed out that the people had already spoken with their votes and advised the PDP gubernatorial candidate to wait till after Bayo Adelabu, the Oyo APC gubernatorial candidate in the state wins March 9, 2019 governorship election to be able to challenge APC victories altogether, adding that “the PDP gubernatorial candidate derives joy in chasing shadows.”
The Ibadan born prince wondered why the PDP gubernatorial candidate didn’t learn from the political maturity, as well as the spirit of sportsmanship displayed by the outgoing Governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, who congratulated Dr. Muhammed Kola Balogun of PDP after he defeated him at the poll.
He said PDP is yet to proffered anything proficient, concerning better alternatives to the laudable achievements recorded so far in the state by the Governor Ajimobi-led APC administration, in terms of provision of adequate security of lives and property, improvement on health services, educational standards, solid road developments and infrastructures.
Speaking on the forthcoming governorship election, Akinremi said based on the electioneering campaigns, governorship debates of all gubernatorial candidates of major political parties in the state, it was obvious to electorate that Bayo Adelabu, the APC standard bearer in the state is the best man to occupy Agodi Government House.
While emphasizing, Prince Akinremi explained that Bayo Adelabu has no doubt of displayed outstanding knowledge of the workings of government all through, along with emphasis on a blueprint of how he intends to move the state to a next level of unparalleled development in all aspects of governance for the benefit of all and sundry.
He further said the basis of campaign of Engr. Makinde and his PDP party has only been that the party’s gubernatorial candidate is a philanthropist and a business mogul, including the sponsorship of negative propaganda, watery and illogical criticisms along with assassination of the characters of political opponents.
While enjoining his supporters to double their efforts in ensuring that the APC wins with landslides in all the 12 wards of Ibadan North in the forthcoming governorship and State parliament elections, Prince Akinremi further pointed out that the governing of a state is more than just being a philanthropist or being a successful in one’s business.
Prince Akinremi further argued that for the fact that Bayo Adelabu, the APC governorship candidate in the Pacesetter state is also a philanthropist who doesn’t make noise about it, as well as one who has rendered quintessential services all through as a top manager of the largest international audit firm in the world, to top sensitive posts in both public and private sectors to the Apex Bank of the country in his youth, it would only be prejudicial for anybody to dispute it that his contributions to the development of the society at large, especially to his state of origin is yet untapped.
