Protest Erupts at MTN Office in Ibadan Over Barred Phone Lines

A protest turned violent on Monday at the MTN office in Ibadan, Oyo state, as a large crowd of angry subscribers gathered to express their frustration over barred phone lines.

The demonstration was sparked by MTN’s decision to disconnect millions of subscribers who failed to link their National Identification Numbers (NIN) with their phone numbers.

However, some protesters alleged that the disconnection was a ploy to thwart a planned nationwide anti-government protest scheduled for Thursday. The situation escalated with some demonstrators throwing stones at the MTN office building.
