Crisis Hits Oyo Accord As Assembly Candidate, Okiki Drags Party, Adelabu, Ajaja, Others To Court
Honourable Adebolu Okiki Folorunso, the Accord Party Candidate for Ibadan South East Constituency 2 has said he was in court to reclaim his stolen mandate.
Okiki in a press release, said that his name was illegally substituted with that of Folorunso Tolulope Ahmed who did not participate in the Party’s primary.
Speaking further, Honourable Okiki stated that he had earlier raised an alarm that Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Chief Mrs Bukola Ajaja and Mr Dairo Olaide were trying to substitute his name with that of Folorunso Tolulope Ahmed.
“I have been a member of the Accord Party before Chief Bayo Adelabu and his group decamped to the Party. I participated in the primary of the Party which was held on June 6, 2022, at IMG Primary School, Alake, Academy, Ibadan, where I emerged consensus Candidate of the Party.”
“Leaders of the party who were present at the Primary were the Local Government Chairman, Adeshina Alimi a.k.a Major, Ward 7 Chairman, Segun Akande, Ward 8 Chairman, Raphael Okunoye, Ward 9, Hammed Saheed, Ward 10 Chairman, Rafiu Lukman, Ward 11 Chairman, Olayode Babatunde and Ward 12 Chairman, Babatunde Sunday, and other members of the Accord Party in Ibadan South East Local Government were all present at the Primary election. I was even issued Certificate of Return by INEC’s officer for Ibadan South East, Mr Stephen Keshinro INEC Electoral Officer.”
“I want to use this medium to tell people of my Constituency, Ibadan South East Constituency 2, that I Honourable Adebolu Okiki Folorunso did not withdraw my mandate for anybody as it is being speculated by some mischievous people. I’m in court to reclaim my stolen mandate back.”
