2023: Never Trust Akintola, Group Warns Tinubu, Says He Is A Pathological Lair
A youth political group in Oyo State, Oyo Progressive Youths (OPY) on Saturday urged the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Asiwaju Bola Hammed Tinubu never to trust a governorship aspirant of the party in Oyo state, Chief Niyi Akintola UI n the forthcoming elections in Oyo state.
The group said Akintola has exposed himself as a supporter of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the governor of the party in the state, Seyi Makinde.
OPY in a statement by its National Chairman, Bolaji Olawuwo said Akintola has displayed his insensitivity and uncultured attribute, forgetting he was speaking on national radio.
The group which was reacting to the interview granted by the SAN on Fresh FM in Ibadan on Saturday morning, where he attacked the APC as a dead horse in Oyo state said Akintola lacks decorum and political strength to lead a state like Oyo.
According to the group, it is unthinkable for Akintola who never win a primary election to describe three times senators of the federal republic of Nigeria, a former senate leader and a 2015 candidate for a ruling, leading political party at that time, Senator Teslim Folarin and a former deputy governor of the central bank, Chief Adebayo Adelabu as bad candidates for 2019 and 2023.
The group asked Akintola to come out in public to tell the people of the state where he belongs, rather than attacking personalities in Oyo APC.
The statement said; “We are appealing to our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Hammed Tinubu to watch his back in his relationship with Chief Niyi Akinola. We have been following his antecedents over the years and we are resolved to come out open and advise him. Akintola is a PDP member and we have the fact of his meeting with Makinde about three weeks ago.
“It is obvious that Akintola lacks decorum and integrity with the way he dehumanised our 2019 and 2023 gubernatorial candidates in Oyo. He openly confirmed his unholy relationship with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Seyi Makinde. He is not only campaigning for them but negotiating on their behalf.
“We therefore urged the people of the state and lovers of progressives to shun the likes of Niyi Akitola who is known as political undertaker and double standard. Because we are not making our moves public does not mean that we are not making progress. We shall contest 2023 election and come out victorious.”
