Olorunda-Abaa Community Donates Land For Lagelu West LCDA Headquarters
Years after its creation by an enactment of the Oyo State House of Assembly, a parcel of land was recently donated to Lagelu West LCDA by Olorunda-Abaa Community for the building of its headquarters so as to enhance the growth and development of the Council.
Handing over the land to the Political Head/Administrator of Lagelu West, Alhaji Lanre Latinwo who was accompanied by top government officials of the LCDA, the traditional ruler of Olorunda-Abaa, Chief Samuel Oladele Folarin, a retired Civil Servant, said it is incumbent for the Council to immediately take possession of the property for the benefit of the people.
The Council Administrator, Hon Latinwo while thanking the traditional ruler for such a remarkable gesture also extends his gratitude to members of Olorunda-Abaa Community saying this is a historic development that will never be forgotten.
It should be noted that before the donation, there was an encroachment on the parcel of the land by yet-to-be-identified developers, directly opposite N. O. Idowu Comprehensive High School, off Idigba Road, Olorunda Abaa.
The traditional ruler is optimistic that the site of the new Council would not only boost their economy but equally enhance further development in theCommunity.
Hon Latinwo assured the Community that all necessary steps would be taken to immediately take over the property while the encroachment of part of the land by unknown developers would be sorted out by the appropriate agency of the government.
According to him ‘’now that we are in possession of the land, we will commence work immediately so as to fulfil our target of completing the headquarters within 4 months and move the first batch of our Staff from the present office to the new headquarter.
Finally, Hon Latinwo while thanking owner of the temporary abode of the LCDA since its creation said that the final movement from the ‘temporarily borrowed’ accommodation at the Olorunda-Abaa market square would boost the LCDA workforce.
On the entourage of the traditional ruler among others, was Chief Muniru Olalekan Oyegbemile, the Ekerin Balogun of Olorunda-Abaa, Lagelu West LCDA.
