Lawmaker, Makinde Adopt New Method To Fight Insecurity In Ibadan North East
The Oyo state Government and the Lawmaker representing Ibadan North East State constituency I in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Olamide Akinajo have assured the residents of Ibadan North East Local Government area of the state that the government has adopted another method of fighting the insecurity.
Iyana Aderogba, Bayerunka, Ogboriefon, Obasanjo Street, Odo-Osun, Itaa-Bale communities have been turned to battle field in the recent time.
Though, he didn’t disclosed the new method adopted by the government but the lawmaker said aside the strategic method adopted, Oyo State government has intervened, as it had deployed security personnel to various junctions of the affected areas.
Hon Akinajo described the unrest in his constituency, said effort had been made from his office to ensure peace return to the crime prone areas.
” Thou, am out of Ibadan presently but am making contacts as soon as I got a situation update from home”.
The lawmaker expressed sadness over the level of crime coming from his constituency, attributing such development to youth unemployment in the country coupled with youthful exhobirant.
” It is a pity my people are experiencing disorderliness presently, but to be sincere, joblessness is what is causing all this issues, most of the youths causing this havoc are jobless which turned them to smokers and touts fomenting troubles here and there.
” What is happening now is owing to the lack of past government’s inability to engage our youths in decent employment opportunities, governor Seyi Makinde inherited this mess, but no excuse, it is now our duty to clear the mess and our government is not relenting in it efforts”, he added
He explained that the present administration in the state is working tirelessly to ensure youth across the state are meaningfully engaged to avoid recurrence of crimes perpetrated by youths.
Hon Akinajo said he has been engaging some of the youths in his constituency, playing a central role in addressing issues that is affecting them by proferring some solutions in his own little way.
Akinajo also expressed displeasure over unethical reportage of the crises by some media houses saying the media blew the matter out of proportion.
he disputed the number of houses burnt, saying only one house and two shops were burnt during the Thursday incident, against the 200 house being circulated.
He appealed to members of the public to cooperate with security agencies and government to nip crime in the bud.
The lawmaker also Implored all Ibadan North East stakeholders, Mogajis, elected and appointed officers to attend tomorrow’s ( Monday ) local stakeholder’s security meeting, which will hold at the locals government secretariat.
