As Nigerians celebrate the country’s 60th independence anniversary, the management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC) has pledged more commitment to excellent service delivery and improved power supply.
This is contained in a statement signed by the company’s Chief Operating Officer, John Ayodele and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Ibadan.
The IBEDC had recently installed an 11 KVA switchgear at the company’s interchange Injection Sub-Station in Ibadan.
Ayodele urged Nigerians not to relent on their contribution to national development, saying electricity was the engine room that drives the development of the nation’s economy.
“Based on this, IBEDC is committed to contributing its quota to national development through excellent service delivery, improved power supply and prompt response to customers’ complaints.
“Our company is also committed to bridging the metering gap across our franchise and setting a new order in the power chain,” he said.
The IBEDC boss, who congratulated Nigerians on the independence anniversary celebration, promising that the company would be more committed to national development.
He said that the sacrifices and ideologies of the nation’s founding fathers should remain the watchword for a united and indivisible country.

He also implored customers to take advantage of the company’s hassle-free payment platforms such as Fetswallet, Quick teller, etransact, Payarena, ATM, Jumia and USSD to pay their electricity bills promptly.
“We promise to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the public holiday.
“Our offices will remain open during the holiday from 9am to 3pm to attend to customers for enquiries, complaints, bill payment, vending and other related issues,” he said.
He also advised motorists to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol and observe traffic rules to prevent collision with electric poles as well as other forms of accidents.
