16th anniversary: Odidiomo celebrates strongman of Ibadan politics, late Adedibu

Ibadan – Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide (Odidiomo) has joined Alhaja Abosede Adedibu, family, friends, and well-wishers to celebrate the life and times of Chief Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu, a courageous and visionary leader who passed on 16 years ago.

 

A statement by Tolu Mustapha, Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs to Hon. Adedeji Olajide (Odidiomo) said, Chief Adedibu, who during his lifetime was an Ibadan high chief and Balogun of Ibadanland, dedicated his life to serving humanity, Ibadan, Oyo state, and Nigeria.

 

The statement described the late Balogun Musulumi of Yorubaland as a community leader, religious leader, and a man of courage and valour who placed the interest of Ibadan above primordial sentiment.

 

Hon. Olajide, also a long time ally of the former member of the National Assembly representing Oyo South Senatorial district, who is also a member of the Oyo State Advisory Council, Sen. Kamorudeen Adedibu was deeply influenced by Adedibu’s courage, resilience and vision for grassroot politics development,

 

According to him, “Chief Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu fought for the welfare of the common man.”

 

“Adedibu’s bravery and political dexterity inspired me and countless others to strive for excellence in public service,” he said.

 

“I join Alhaja Abosede Adedibu, Sen. Kamorudeen Adedibu, family, friends, and well-wishers to thank Almighty Allah for Adedibu’s beautiful life well spent in service to God, humanity, Ibadan, Oyo state, and Nigeria as a whole and also pray for the repose of his soul.

 

We will continue to celebrate his legacy as a shining example of selfless service and dedication to humanity, as we mark 16 years since the passing of our revered elder statesman, Chief Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu.

 

We will always honor his memory and celebrate his life.

 

His bravery, courage, resilience and political dexterity continue to inspire us to strive for excellence in public service and his impact on our lives can never be forgotten, the statement concluded.
